Description

Urang-Aring (eclipta alba) is a kind of wild crop. This crop grows many in open place like on a roadside, terrain, moat periphery, coastal edge. Grows at height of 1500 m above sea level. Plant’s height reachs 80 cm. Tree grows perpendicular. Tree trunk is globular and has a chocolate green colour. Leaf is green and globular, tip of leaf is sharp, its marginal is smooth jagged or almost flat, both surfaces of leaf is furry, felt rather harsh. The amounts of flower is compound. The flower is white in the small capitulum form. Its fruit is long, furry and hard.

Chemical Character and Pharmacology Efek

Sweet, sour, cold. Stops haemorrhage (hemostatic), reduces temperature (antipyretic), anti poison (antitoxic). This herb enter into liver and kidney meridian.

Usage of Urang-aring for Alternative Therapy

*Part Used : all part of crop, in a state of fresh or dry.
*Usage : 30-120 grams of fresh Urang-Aring, or dried to be made powder.

1.Swelling gum.

Herba which still fresh is grilled until dry, then is made powder (with processing). Dabs the powder to part of ill body.

2.Hair treatment.

Grind 1 grasps of Urang-Aring’s leaf. Add 2 glass of water, then filters. The filter water is dew by one nights. Way of usage: wetts scalp with the filter water while messaged once a day.

3.Scabby in the head.

Take leaf of Urang-Aring sufficiently then is braised. Applies its decoction water which still warm to clean head. The dregs is rubbed to scabies. Or fresh herb is pulverized, then its juice water is dabbed to scabies.

4.Nosebleed.

Takes 1 grasp of fresh Urang-Aring to be cleaned, pulverized, then extorted. Its juice water is added by 5 glass of water, steam so that hot. Drinks 2 times a day after eats.

5.Diarrhoea.

30 gram of fresh Urang-Aring is braised, then its decoction water is drinked whilst warm.
